Scale
Scale is the whole point. This is a mod built to do the thing other army mods can't — put hundreds of soldiers on the field at once and keep the game smooth.
The impossible battle
Most NPC mods start to choke at a few dozen active characters. Medieval Armies is built from the ground up to field hundreds in a single battle — whole armies clashing on one screen, in formation, without grinding your game to a halt.
That headroom is what makes the rest of the mod possible. Twenty factions, sprawling rosters, pitched battles and a continent full of people going about their lives — all at once, all alive.
A continent that keeps living
The world doesn't pause when you turn your back. Far-off NPCs settle into the background while you're away and pick up their lives the moment you return — every detail of who they are kept intact, from their gear to their loyalties to their wounds. You travel a living continent, not a series of frozen scenes.
The engineering that makes this work is the project's own — and the reward is simple: you can raise the kind of army the genre usually can't, and the world will hold it.
